Luciano Marrocu

About the book

George Orwell is one of the sharpest and most courageous critics of the 20th Century. From the experience of the Spanish Civil War to his fight for political change at home, he has always acted as an independent thinker. This biography focuses on the most significant moments of Orwell’s life. The book retraces episodes from his private life, and it recreates the political and intellectual context which inspired Animal Farm and 1984. This study represents a significant contribution to fully appreciate George Orwell’s farsighted understanding of soviet totalitarianism and its monstrous ability to manipulate reality.
